When I see a new sextoy called the ROMP Cello, it makes me think of the cello! And yet, it is far from being a musical instrument! Indeed, the ROMP Cello is an egg-shaped vibrator that can be controlled with a remote control! It is a sextoy of the ROMP brand which is part of the Wow Tech group and it is not usual on the website, since it is one of the first ROMP sextoys that we review! We can say that there is a first for everything!

Indeed, the first sextoy of this brand that we reviewed, it was a little time ago, with the anal beads ROMP Amp, then the second was the ROMP Mosh! And finally, the last one was the Romp Riot. Moreover, as we received several sex toys from ROMP, it is not the last one that you will be able to discover soon on the website!

An egg-shaped vibrator, this is not the first either. We have already reviewed on Picobong Diver a long time ago, of course the Lush 3 from Lovense, which is also controlled via its app and still others that I forgot in the meantime. Here, it’s a low-budget sextoy, we will not have the same features as those previously announced, however, we will see if this one is interesting or not for its price. So here is our review of the egg-shaped vibrator Romp Cello!

ROMP Cello packaging

No surprises here, since the box of the ROMP Cello is very similar to those of the AMP and the Mosh. Indeed, we are again in front of a semi-rigid cardboard box, with the Cello and its remote control on the front. Then at the back, the same thing, but presented this time in a horizontal way rather than vertically. On one of the slices, we have the product’s highlights, while the other slice informs us of the box’s contents.

When we open the box, we discover a plastic mold with inside, the egg and its remote control. We also have a flyer, a manual for the safety of use and a didactic manual to use the Cello of ROMP. Moreover, we also have a charging cable and a battery for the remote control. And finally, as for the Mosh, we find a booklet with several stickers on sexuality.

ROMP Cello physical details

Visually, the Romp Cello consists of two elements! On one side we have a kind of double geisha ball, which forms a whole, with an antenna at the end which serves as a pull cord, but also as a sensor for the remote control. And on the other, as I just mentioned, we have a remote control to control the Cello. At the level of the two balls glued together (a bit like the Je Joue Ami balls), we can see the Romp logo engraved in the silicone layer and at the back we have a small hole to connect the charging cable when the internal battery needs to be recharged. On the antenna, we can also see the presence of a “Power” button that will turn on the Cello. This one folds and remains very flexible.

For the remote control, it is two-tone, with a touch of yellow and turquoise blue. We notice that it has a single button with a wave shape on it. At the back, we have an element that slides to access the location of the battery required to power this remote control using the battery in the box in 23A format.

The size

Now, let’s talk a little about the dimensions of the two elements we have at our disposal. On the one hand, we have a remote control, 8.25 cm (3.24″) long, 3.29 cm (1.29″) wide and 2.52 cm (0.99″) thick. A fairly classic size in the end. And on the other, concerning the egg (or the two balls connected between them), it measures 18.2 cm (7.16″) in total length, with the two balls around 8 cm (3.14″) in length and with a maximum diameter of 3.9 cm (1.53″). Again, the dimensions are quite usual in this field.

Other details

To finish on the visual elements, but not only, the egg is turquoise in color, just like the remote control, except that this one also uses a touch of yellow. And for its weight, the egg weighs only 61 grams, which is light, but not that much. It also depends on your habit in this area, because you have to hold it well in place with the help of your perineum.

ROMP Cello materials

Now, let’s talk about the materials that make up the Romp Cello. First of all, regarding the vibrating egg, it is made of silicone, but it is more of a silicone layer. It is rather soft, but the whole remains rigid. It is especially the antenna which is really flexible and made almost entirely of silicone, except the “Power” button which contains some electronics inside.

For the remote control, it is made of ABS plastic with a PU (polyurethane) coating that gives it a rather soft look as well. These two materials are healthy, it’s quite classic let’s say, in this field.

ROMP Cello use

Now it’s time to see how the ROMP Cello works! As you can see, it’s a vibrating egg, even if I think it’s more like two balls stuck together that form a whole that can also be controlled with a remote control. But before all that, we will already start with its charging.

How to charge the egg and the remote control?

As always, before using your new sextoy, it is necessary to charge its battery to the maximum for a better life span. For the remote control, it requires a battery, so it is not rechargeable. It’s a bit of a shame, but then again, it’s quite common in this field. Personally, I prefer a remote control with battery, it is less problematic when it comes to its end, than to have to find a battery, especially of this format.

For the egg, you have a USB charging cable at your disposal. Just plug the cable into the back of the egg, and then the other part into a powered USB 2 port, or into an AC adapter if you have one. After that, it takes 120 minutes of charging time, for a battery life of about an hour. So that’s a pretty low ratio, since you’re looking at two hours for one hour. You have a small LED that will inform you if the charging is going well. If you don’t have an LED that lights up, it means that the connection is not correct. When the LED is blinking, it means that the charging is in progress and once it stays steady, the charging will be completed.

How to handle it?

To use this vibrating egg, you have two possibilities! The first one is the boring version, which is not very useful, but which has the advantage of being present, and the other one is the version that everyone will use. Indeed, the first way to use it is without the remote control. At the end of the antenna there is a button. By pressing it for 2 seconds, the egg will light up. Pressing this button again will change the vibration modes. And to stop it, a two seconds pressure on this button will be enough.

Otherwise, you can use the remote control! Because I can tell you that once in place, the button present on the stem of the egg will not be the easiest way to change modes. You should already know that this remote control has a maximum range of 5 meters! This is not much, but we are not on a product like the We-Vibe Chorus, which is not proposed for the same budget. And finally, the button on the remote control will allow you to use the constant mode with several levels of intensity and the 4 vibrating modes.

What are the vibrating modes?

Precisely, I have just talked about it, we have with the ROMP Cello, 4 vibration modes. They are quite common, classic, nothing new under the sun as we say. Some give jolts, others are more in wave mode, pulsation, in short, the usual. And we have for the constant or continuous mode, 6 levels of intensity. It is generally this mode that is most used.

Which lubricant to choose ?

If you need to use lubricant, you should choose a water-based one. This is not a requirement as you know, but it can help with insertion. However, don’t use too much, because again, if you find yourself standing while using it, the more it will slip, the more effort you will have to make to hold it in.

How to clean it?

Once again, you have to be careful! So as much as the vibrating egg is waterproof to IPX7 standard, the remote control is to IPX0 standard! It does not support humidity! So, to clean it, it is only with a cloth, no more and no less. On the other hand, for the vibrating egg, you can put it under warm water with a little soft soap, there is no fear to have. Then, once washed, simply air dry it.

ROMP Cello efficiency

Now we’re going to tell you what we think of this Cello from ROMP! Again, this is an entry level product, as ROMP is an entry level brand from the great WowTech. It’s a product for smaller budgets, but what is it worth in use. With Kitty, we tested this one to give you our opinion. Here’s what we think and what we can say about it.

Handling and ergonomy

To begin with, let’s talk about the first thing we do with the Romp Cello, which is inserting it into your vagina. At this point, even without prior lubrication, it is not very difficult to put them in place. It is enough to push the egg inside, without forcing it to maintain in place thereafter. It is true that it is easier to put a dildo in, but that is also the principle of an egg or vibrating balls, it is rather small. Fortunately, the rod allows you to move the Cello relatively easily to really position it as you wish.

If needed, lubricant can help you with the insertion. Once in place, you don’t feel any discomfort, at least, Kitty didn’t tell me about any concern at this level. The wearing remains easy, because the Cello is rather light and this even on a rather long duration. Concerning the use of the remote control, it’s not so good. Let’s just say that it seems to have trouble activating when you are far away from the person wearing the Cello. For my part, I had to get closer to Kitty to change the vibration modes. It is far from the 5 meters expected, I have more the impression that it is necessary to be at 1,5 m, even 2, rather than 5. It is surely a point to be improved.

Vibration and stimulation

Basically, they are balls or an egg to strengthen the perineum. However, they can also be used for pure pleasure. On this side, the vibrations are not bad, in terms of power, but on the other hand, on the side of their depth and their propagation, it is rather average, even superficial. It’s a pity, but at the same time, we are not surprised considering the previous reviews, especially the Riot of the same brand. For beginners, it’s ok, but for those who are more used to it, it’s a bit disappointing. At the same time, it is an entry-level product, oriented for beginners.

Be aware that they can be used to vibrate the clitoris or the nipples, like any vibrating element, but its primary purpose is to be inserted. It has also been noted that the vibrations also make the rod (the antenna) move, which can be pleasant if you bend the rod before putting on panties so that it is in contact with your clitoris. That’s a plus. Otherwise, while in place, Kitty was able to feel stimulation of the vaginal walls as well as small contractions of her perineum. The work on the latter seems to be going on.

ROMP Cello final thoughts

To finish this review, the ROMP Cello remains correct for its price. It is a product which is intended for beginners, with relatively powerful vibrations, but not very deep and still superficial. Simple to use, the Cello still fulfills its mission of remusculating the perineum while offering you pleasure. Its remote control remains simple to use, but its range is less than expected. The ratio of charging time to autonomy is a bit low. We would also have liked to have a battery-operated remote control, rather than a battery. To begin with, the Cello is not bad at all.
