To begin this review, we are going to speak to you about the box of this wand, simply, because it is the first thing that we discover by receiving this one. We have a rectangular box, cardboard, which takes the typical design of this range, with black and purple.

When you open it, you immediately discover a large and long black case that once opened, hides the Lovehoney Desire rechargeable wand. It is a typical packaging of this range to provide a case, I find it really cool to store it later.

Then, inside, we also have its USB charging cable and a small booklet to help you get started. This booklet is rather well done and as you will see later, it clearly indicates the vibrating modes present, which is rather rare nowadays.

When I first saw it, I must say I was surprised. It looks like a wand that has been on a diet, it is really very thin! Indeed, the handle, the part that goes from the controls to the neck of the wand is really thin, which is not usual. It has a very long shape, we will see if the grip suffers or not.

On the handle, we have a silver button with a metallic effect, which is the “Power” button. Then on each side of this button, we have a “+” button engraved on the silicone and on the other, a “-” button. At the bottom of the wand, we have again a metallic effect, with the CE logo on the back, which just below, hides a small hole to recharge the clitoral wand. We can see that this wand has a neck type “accordion” with a fairly long and wide head.

Wand size

As I said, it is a rather long wand, but thin! As for its total length, I calculated 30 cm (11.81″), including 21.5 cm (8.46″) for the handle (just before the neck). Concerning the neck, it is 2 cm (0.78″) long while the head is 7 cm (2.75″) long. Its maximum diameter, for the head, is 5.41 cm (2.12″) while the handle, at its thinnest, measures 2.86 cm (1.12″). It is really thin.

Other details

To complete this part, you could see that this wand is purple with black metallic touches. And for its weight, it is not very light on the contrary of its lines, it feels good in hand with a heavier part on the head side. This is a good thing, because the heavier the head is, the more chances that it is not made of plastic as it can be the case on some models.

To begin with, the storage case is made of polyurethane. Then, on the wand side, we have ABS plastic, especially the parts with a metallic effect and then for the rest, we have silicone. It’s pretty soft, but does catch a little dust, which is often the case. We also see plastic for the neck, which will allow it to have flexibility.

Now let’s talk about how to use this “magic wand”. It’s pretty standard, although it’s wireless, but basically you have three buttons, 5 modes and not much more to know to use it. We explain it to you in details!

How to charge the wand?

Before using your wand, you will need to charge it. For this, you have a charging cable, with a mini-jack type on one side and a USB 2.0 type connection on the other. Once plugged in, an LED flashes during the charging time. Once the LED stops blinking, the charging is complete. However, it takes 5 hours to fully charge it for a battery life of 200 minutes, which leaves you with over 3 hours.

How to use it?

To use this Lovehoney Desire rechargeable wand, nothing very complex. First thing, we have a “Travel-Lock” mode. By plugging the wand into a USB port, it disables the lock mode during transport. Otherwise, to activate or deactivate it, you have to press the “+” and “-” buttons at the same time for 2 seconds.

And second thing, we have three buttons. The central button is used to turn on or off the wand. By keeping this button pressed, we activate the vibrations, same thing by keeping the button pressed to stop them. Otherwise, a press on this button allows to change the current mode. Then, we have the “+” button to increase the level of intensity of the vibrations, while the “-” button will lower the level of intensity.

What modes are available?

Let’s talk about the modes present on this wand! Here, I say thank you to Lovehoney, because the booklet explains the different modes with diagrams, which makes it easier to understand them. So you have 5 modes, including a first constant mode. Then a second mode with a very fast and close spaced up and down effect. The third mode has the same shape as the second mode, with much more space between the rise and fall and especially with the addition of a plateau phase. The fourth mode is a wave system. And finally, the fifth mode mixes the second and the third mode. For each of these modes, you have 10 levels of intensity!

Which lubricant to choose with ?

With a silicone clitoral stimulator (its head), but I also want to say, with any sextoy made with silicone, it is preferable to choose a water-based lubricant. Regarding its use, you are free to use it or not. In fact, since this sextoy is not intended to be inserted, it is not a requirement. Again, it’s a matter of personal choice and comfort. In fact, this is not a truth, since we also have small models that are very powerful, like the Domi 2 from Lovense. So let’s see if this Lovehoney Desire rechargeable wand goes the distance with others and what it offers! Here is our opinion!

Handling and ergonomics

The placement of the buttons is rather judicious, you can use it with your thumb easily once the head is in place against your clitoris. The grip with its thin handle is not a concern. On the contrary, it adapts well to small hands.

As I mentioned, in terms of the weight of this wand, it is a bit heavy, but mostly, on the head side. This generates a slight imbalance that will make it possible to use the wand in certain positions to feel less its weight in hand. Nothing really disturbing either, because the fact that the head is heavier also allows, depending on the material inside, to provide stronger and deeper vibrations.

On the other hand, the neck of the wand is really flexible, not too much either, but just right. You can put pressure on the clitoris, targeting this or that part, even if it is not a stimulator that will target a precise area, but a wider area, considering its head. In fact, Kitty was able to use it on her clitoris at the same time as on the brake of my penis, pressing back and forth.

The quality of the vibrations

Overall, this wand has a good level of vibration. They are quite powerful, quite deep, especially on the lower intensity levels. At higher intensity levels, the vibrations become more superficial, but, to be honest, the power of the wand compensates for this quite well. Also, when pressing against the clitoris, the neck handles this point well, so you don’t lose too much vibrational power, when you apply pressure.

It is therefore a good wand, powerful, but not at the level of the most powerful on the market. This is enough to enjoy according to Kitty who enjoyed it. Admittedly, its charging time is still long, but its autonomy is relatively acceptable for a wireless wand. Its neck is very flexible, with a good grip, despite a slightly heavy head that unbalances the whole. On the power side, we are on a good level, with certainly, a loss of depth at higher level, but its power compensates in absolute. A nice discovery!
