One of the most famous product that won this contest is the Sqweel (which I reviewed in Sqweel Go and Sqweel XT versions, but not the first one) but this time it’s a gyroscopic vibrator, we can’t stop progress! By the way, the Gyr8tor reminds me a bit of the Nexus Gyro which also has a half-sphere part to play with the gyroscopic part!

So it’s a kind of vibrator with a spherical base that moves with the help of a gyroscopic system! It’s really something new and unusual and so it was quite legitimate that we wanted to review it. What do you want, as soon as we see something new that is out of the ordinary, we try to get it to review it on the website, but also to have fun with it, it’s always better! I know it’s an element that’s not important for you, yet, in Loveshop for example or when you receive the product, it’s the first thing you discover! So we have a product that ends up packed in a rigid cardboard box, salmon orange with dark purple.

On the front part, we discover a picture of the Gyr8tor surrounded by a kind of symbol reminiscent of the symbol of chemistry and molecules. Here, it is mainly to show the gyroscopic side of the vibrator. Behind it is written roughly “Gyr8tor”, while on the other side, we find information about the product.

Once you open the box from the top, you find the Gyr8tor blocked by a piece of cardboard, a bit like the one in a Fleshlight masturbator. We can also see that a kind of ABS plastic contour is present, at the level of this half-sphere as well as a part with the controls which consist of three buttons. It may not look like it, but the Gyr8tor is not as small as you might think! Indeed, it measures 21.60 cm (8.50′) in total length for an insertable length of 15.24 cm (6′)! That’s not bad at all! The diameter is between 3.63 cm (1.42′) and 3.84 cm (1.51′). The widest part is at neck level, just above the spherical part. So it’s a big one !

Other details of the vibrator

The first thing I’d like to say is that if you don’t like purple, too bad for you! Indeed, the Gyr8tor is only available in this colour. You’ll have to do with it if you want to take advantage of its gyroscopic stimulation. The second thing is its weight! When you look at it like that, you can’t imagine it weighs 307 grams. It’s not very heavy, but you can feel the weight distribution on the spherical part, which allows the Gyr8tor to move gyroscopically.

For the ABS plastic part, it is the ring that can be seen in purple, a little lighter, which delimits the spherical part of the Gyr8tor shaft. The rest is made of silicone. But it’s a silicone coating. It’s not a shaft made entirely of silicone. Basically, the shaft is rigid. As a reminder, silicone is a phthalate-free, latex-free, hypoallergenic and body-friendly material. On the dust attraction side, silicone captures dust, but it is not a vacuum cleaner either.

Attention, I advise you to read this paragraph! Indeed, the Gyr8tor vibrator has several subtleties and it is not easy to understand everything from the beginning. Especially since there are several things to consider before saying that your product doesn’t work. Indeed, the first thing you will notice is that the gyroscopic part does not engage directly. How do I charge the Gyr8tor?

The Gyr8tor is not a magic object, it doesn’t work by itself! Indeed, it has an internal battery that will need to be recharged from time to time. To do this, you have a USB to mini-jack charging cable that you will need to plug into the Gyr8tor and the other end into a computer or an AC adapter. When it is charging, the LEDs will pulse to indicate that it is charging. And as soon as the LEDs remain fixed, charging will be completed.

It will take about 2.5 hours to fully charge for a 60-minute autonomy. I find it a bit disappointing to wait that long to enjoy so little. It’s not catastrophic, but the ratio of charging time to autonomy is not at its highest. Another point, when your vibrator is almost out of battery life, an LED will warn you to charge the battery.

How do I handle this Gyr8tor vibrator?

I might as well tell you, it’s not exactly intuitive. It’s a bit of a shame, by the way. You have three buttons on this vibrator. There’s the top button with an arrow pointing up. A middle button with the symbol “Power” and a bottom button with the symbol of an arrow going down. If you look at the way it works, you’ll see that the button icons are not really simple to understand.

The top button with the top arrow controls the vibration. If you hold this button down for a few seconds, the vibration will be activated. Pressing the same button again will allow you to change the vibration intensity. A long press will stop the vibration. Next, you have the middle “Power” button, which controls the rotations.

If you press on it for a long time; the rotation system will start to activate, but there is a short period of time between when you activate the rotations and when it really moves. This is the time for the motor to warm up and start its gyroscopic action. If you then make a short press, you will change the rotation speed. And if you hold this button down, the rotations will be deactivated. Finally, on the third button, the down arrow, you can change the rotation mode.

Also know that you have a “Travel-Lock” mode that can be activated or deactivated at any time. To do this, hold down the up and down arrow buttons for 4 seconds to make the Gyr8tor blink and emit a double buzz to indicate that the mode is activated. You will need to do the same to deactivate the lock mode during transport.

What are the vibration and rotation modes?

For the Gyr8tor, you have several things to consider! You have the vibration part and the gyratory part. Concerning the vibrations, you have 2 constant modes, one weak, the other stronger, then 3 vibration patterns. Then for the gyratory part, you have 2 modes and 5 speeds. The first mode is “normal”, constant”, while the other is a jerky rotating mode. It’s a bit weak concerning the gyratory modes, with only 2 modes, it’s maybe a bit weak. We’ll see that a little bit further down in this review.

Which lubricant to use?

You know the song? When you use a silicone-based sextoy, you have to choose a water-based lubricant! It’s really an important point to understand and remember when you discover the world of sextoys! Otherwise, you risk having bad surprises! If you need a lubricant, you can go to the Sliquid range, with Sliquid Satin, Buck Angel’s or Organics Natural. You also have the Pjur range, with the Pjur Aqua for example.

How do I clean the Gyr8tor?

Now we just need to talk to you about when to clean it. First of all, you should know that it is waterproof, but not to IPX7 standard. In any case, there’s a big doubt about it, because I read after writing this review, several bloggers around the world indicated that the Gyr8tor wasn’t working properly anymore and that liquid was leaking from the area that has the ABS plastic ring. This suggests that it is waterproof to IPX6 standard. Basically, I do not recommend using it in the shower or bath. And when it needs to be cleaned, be careful using a sextoy cleaner instead of water. This is in anticipation and I want to say, in prevention of a possible problem.

The first time we turn it on, the gyro part…

When we first turned on this Gyr8tor, it was quite strange. First, we have to wait a bit for the gyro system to activate, but once it’s launched, it’s quite impressive! If you leave it on a table, it moves by itself, jumping from one side to the other, randomly. Then, once you get into the second mode, the Gyr8tor does a bit of what it wants, you’d think it’s alive and trying to escape like some kind of rocket that wants to take off. It makes you want to try it, because on the power of the gyroscopic part, you can’t say that the engine is weak.

Vibrator vibrations

Concerning the Gyr8tor vibrations, I won’t go into detail about them, they are medium vibrations, rather surface, rather buzzy, but they are at least present. It adds a little something to the overall stimulation. Let’s just say it’s not the vibrations we’re most interested in on this sextoy.

The Gyr8tor noise

I thought this special vibrator would be louder than that, but not that much. Indeed, I can’t say it’s silent, so don’t overdo it. But it’s not too noisy either. For my part, I still find it makes less noise than the first Womanizer W100 and its vacuum cleaner or lawn mower noise. The noise is very mechanical, it’s quite particular, but whether it’s for Kitty or myself, on this point, we didn’t find it too noisy in relation to its functions.

Vaginal stimulation of the Gyr8tor

Clearly, do not expect G-spot stimulation, the shaft is far too straight and absolutely not flexible. On the other hand, the rotating part works very well. If you let it, it looks like someone is making a cake in Kitty’s pussy. It’s really a different kind of stimulation than other products on the market. It’s kind of like the Fun Factory pulsators, like the Stronic Surf or Stronic G, except that they go back and forth, whereas here it’s a stimulator that comes in and pushes the vaginal walls and spins around in your pussy.

It is not necessarily a sextoy that will bring you to vaginal orgasm, but if you couple it to a clitoral stimulator, such as the Sona 2 Cruise for example, you get a rather interesting double stimulation. Moreover, the vibrations, which are present, are fairly average overall. They’re not low frequency vibrations, they’re there, but that’s not the most interesting part according to Kitty.

The handling of the vibrator

This is obviously an important point, because given the way the Gyr8tor rotates in all directions, you have to know how to handle it. Here there are good points and not so good points. For example, the location of the buttons could have been a bit better, especially by placing them closer to the half-sphere. When the Gyr8tor is inserted in the pussy, with the pussy juice, it is not necessarily the best place for access to the controls which will get wet and slippery. Also, since the vibrator is spinning, the controls are never in the same place, which is a bit disturbing.

In fact, you have to activate it on the mode you want and not touch it anymore. Indeed, you can use it without your hands by closing your thighs to hold it. It works very well, Kitty was able to do it without worry and moreover, the twirls become less ample and the pressure is stronger on the vaginal walls. In addition, without holding it, you avoid twisting your wrist in all directions. Finally, its base is practical enough to hold it and it remains very easy to insert, despite its diameter.

In anal stimulation

Yes, I wanted to test this vibrator in anal! At the same time, seeing this thing spinning efficiently on Kitty’s pussy and seeing it moving empty, made me want to try it on my prostate. However, the result was not as good as I had hoped. For one thing, the vibrations are really too weak. On the other hand, the vibrations are too buzzy, surface vibrations and you don’t really feel it penetrating the body. I knew this from having already seen the vibrations at work for Kitty, but now you realize it, once the Gyr8tor is in your buttocks.

For the gyratory effect, it’s the same thing. Actually, it doesn’t really work. When I tried it, I put some lubricant on it, in a crouching position and inserted the vibrator. Then, when I activated the gyratory effect, I found that it was more the half-sphere part that moves, more than the shaft. Here, with the anus pressing on the walls of the Gyr8tor, the Gyr8tor is slowed down in its movements. As a result, it doesn’t really move inside, the prostate is barely stimulated, which is a pity. I really thought that this vibrator would stimulate my prostate like never before, but I have to admit that it wasn’t the case. For my part, I don’t really find it suitable for anal, even though its base acts as a brake and it’s not unpleasant.

All in all, this gyroscopic vibrator is special! It is clearly not a sextoy that we recommend for beginners. In our opinion, you really need to be used to sextoys, to have tested different models to realize that the Gyr8tor vibrator is completely different from other vibrators and stimulators. It is a rotating sensation that you will perceive and not a back and forth sensation. It’s a sextoy that needs to be familiarized with to get used to it and appreciate it at its true value! Unfortunately, it is a pity that it is noisy, that the buttons are not better placed and more ergonomic, but also that it is not there for anal stimulation! And then, we must not forget the vibrations that we find a little too much buzzy.

All in all, it’s a sextoy that will be interesting for the gyrating part in the vagina, because the rest is rather anecdotal. If you are looking for a sextoy that is completely different from what you already know, with a stimulation that looks like something spinning in your vagina, then yes, the Gyr8tor will be for you. For others, especially beginners, go for something more conventional! In any case, it’s a great discovery and it really is a sextoy to try!
